McDonald's iced tea and Facebook
I have been trying to figure out the facebook fan page thing. I found it at the Etsy forum, with help of JDWolfe (etsy mud team member), and set up the page. I have no idea what to do with it. If you have time, come and fan me.
It is getting quite chili out here. Studio gets the furnace running today.
Glazing last two days. Dug out the buckets of glaze looking for the tomato red. I did not label them or fall out during the move. I have two prospect buckets... I found the bucket of the chun glaze, though. I will test all at the next firing.
I added the gallery page today.

Fluted platter
I threw 21" platter using two 7lb clay. The latest batch of clay is very soft, it was very easy to throw. For the small pieces, I am having the hard time not collasping as my wall is thin. I used the heat gun to stiff up the clay just before the final shaping. Then, I added the fulted rim.

Twenty years
Who ever thought? I have lived in US for twenty years today. It was very fast twenty years.
Do I want to go back to Japan to live? No! I do not think like Japanese way anymore. Moreover, Japanese society has changed last twenty years, and I will be lost there. I used to miss good Japanese food, but can get lots of integrants now. I can watch some Japanese TV shows on the Internet, etc. More importantly I have my family here, and have spread my roots (I think). In seven years, I will be living here longer than I lived in Japan.
Twenty years, Who ever thought?

The Creator's Hands
I finished all art and craft festivals for this year. I was just exhausted, and took very slow days this week. I did slept 12 hours today. There are few good art and craft festivals around this area. Now, I will restock several consignment and wholesale stores, and the etsy store.
The Creator's Hands is located at Brown's Race. This is one of few consignment store for me. The creator's hand was the first store who took my piece more than 15 years ago. I just dropped in the Arnet Bluebird store with the pottery, and they were very generous enough to carry my very early work. Since then, the store has been very good to me.
Gennese river run through the heart of the rochester. There is the high fall, Genessee beer on one side and Kodak on the other side. RGE generates electricity over the falls. Many people are enjoying the nice fall day.

Pressure cooker
I have eaten the Korean short lib soup at the Secret Garden last couple years while in Syrucuse, NY during the syracuse art festival. I have not seen this this dish in Rochester. Once a while I got craving for it, and tried the other day with the normal pot. I simmered for two hours, but the meat was very tough. Kinda impulse, I got this pressure cooker.
It took twenty minutes to cook the short ribs, the meat was very tender. Soup was very simple, nappa cabbage, soup stock, soy sauce, chill and red pepper paste. Since then, I made the custard, chile, pasta sauce. It cuts the cooking time to at least in third. I should have gotten it much earlier.
Glazed today, and firing on Wednesday. Clothesline festival this weekend. This is my last show for the summer.

Back to studio
Now, I am getting ready for the Clothesline Festival, which is my last show of this summer. August was the third coldest summer in the record, and was very wet as well. I do not remember this much rain during the festivals. At the elmwood festival last weekend, it poured during the set-up, and formed a small creek at the bottom of my booth, and I could not set up for awhile. After that rain, it was mostly rain free, and we had great crowd.
Blue sky, and very cool weather today. This morning hit fifties. The fall is around the corner.
Casseroles, butter dish, rice bowls, bowls are on the shelves to finish.
I have been glued to the Japanese newspaper website last couple days. It was amazing to see the Liberal Democratic Party thrown out of the power, and I am very interested how the Democratic Party will work with the government bureaucrat, who has been stirring the country. If the Democratic Party will usuceed to govern more than one year, we might see some changes in Japan. Very interesting.
